About Alex Brotman

My name is Alex Brotman, and I’ve been developing VictoryManual.com since 2005. The site has evolved parallel to my own unfolding life.

Originally, I started the site to document my experiences in Japan. I eventually grew out of the journal medium and focused on social observations and foreign language acquisition, specifically Japanese and Korean.

At the end of 2008 I scrapped my entire archive of three and a half years of writings (after saving them locally for nostalgia) except for about 20 articles that I decided to rewrite from the ground up and post as new.
